Went on a rare outing to the movie theaters to see The King’s Speech.
Good movie, well acted. Not sure about the historical accuracy, but it made for an interesting story.

The scene stealer in this movie is the scenery.
A pretty solid rom-com until it got super sappy near the end.

7.5 out of 10.

Good, but slow moving, especially up until the last 30 to 40 minutes.  Then it kicks into high gear.

I never thought I would ever watch a movie about Passaic, New Jersey.

You know, I like China and Chinese movies. Someday I’d like to go to Hong Kong and other places and when I see movies like this they “inspire” me to want to try to make that trip happen.

However this movie sucks. Jackie Chan was in 4 scenes, which he probably filmed in 1 day. Total on screen time, maybe 4 minutes. The movie was badly filmed and the storyline was lame at best.

Good special effects, interesting scenery, potentially interesting story idea, good costumes.
But somehow it just didn’t come together. Not terrible. Just not “good”. Ok.

I think I will start giving my own ranking on movies….on a “out of 10″ scale, for what it is worth.

In general I try not to watch movies I’ve already seen, but I make exceptions. After seeing that Supercop was one of the “100 films to see before you die” on some yahoo list, I decided to rewatch. In reality it’s a pretty good action movie. Fast paced, lots of stunts, thin plot. Better than a lot of American “action” movies.
Now if i could just get them to make my versions of Jackie Chan’s Pride and Prejudice or Jackie Chan’s The Rage of Christ…

A 4.6 rating from IMDB is completely inappropriate. While this wasn’t a great film, it did capture the look and feel of the Avatar’s world. But it was definitely missing something. There was no connection with the characters. Still a 4.6 is not even close…maybe a 6.4 is closer.
Still I’d like to see the trilogy completed and I might just go back and watch the series on Netflix. I never did see the final episodes due to Nick’s horrible scheduling for them.

Stylish and interesting, if a bit slow moving.
